Dhira Pradiva Foundation

The Dhira Pradiva Foundation is an institution in Bali that focuses on fostering and preserving traditional Balinese arts and culture, particularly through the development of dance, gamelan percussion, and creative education for children and young people in the Banjar Sala area, Aan Village, Klungkung Regency. The foundation’s activities stem from an arts studio established to provide a space for children to learn and hone their artistic talents while instilling a love of Balinese cultural heritage from an early age.

Through a holistic approach, the foundation not only teaches traditional dance and percussion techniques but also introduces Balinese script and English as part of an effort to broaden the younger generation’s horizons without abandoning their cultural identity. Consistent training routines foster discipline, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility, enabling participants to develop not only artistically but also as confident and empowered individuals.

The studio’s founding stemmed from Dhira’s concern over the extraordinary artistic talents of many children in Banjar Sala, yet there was no dedicated space to channel them. “I wanted to provide a place for children to express their talents and develop a love for Balinese culture from an early age.

My experience during my visit. Personally, I had a good impression. The village is clean, and the people are very friendly. I really feel at home there (Aan Village, Klungkung), especially since there's a secret waterfall there. It's really beautiful.

This waterfall has a reason to be called "Secret", the track to get the main waterfall definitely not for beginner. I Couldn't make it. But the experience was so amazing. To anyone who love tracking, explore super hidden gem and in a very good condition, you have to try this waterfall. You can meet - the founder - pak Dira, He Will tell you the story about the waterfall. Just one word "aan-believable" ❤️❤️❤️

This is one of the most exciting places I’ve been to in Bali. It is in the way not far from Klung Kung. There is a 30 minute hike down some rock stairs and through a gorge and you will walk in a river. They lend you Water shoes especially. It is a hike that is not for the faint hearted but unbelievably rewarding. The tall gorge walls are covered in beautiful green plants and there are many rewards of little waterfalls that lead up to the final big one. Definitely a must for any adventurer.

What a beautiful experience learning about the waterfall, and it's conservation efforts, speaking with Dira and doing the hike! It's quite challenging to walk it but totally worth it for the beautiful plants and sunlight. We ate with Dira and his family afterwards and spent a beautiful morning on the farm. Worth noting this isn't like the bigger waterfalls with crowds, swimming, and bali swings, it's a lovely family experience - make sure you treat it with respect and help pick up some trash!

Beautiful scenic hike down to the water. Walking in and along the stream to the falls requires some balancing and I was glad for my water sandals and walking stick. Pak Dira who discovered the falls works tirelessly to keep the environment clean and pass on the love of nature and culture to the younger generation. His wife runs a small eatery with delicious local foods and cakes. I look forward to returning to Aan village! Worth noting this isn't like the bigger waterfalls with crowds, swimming, and bali swings, it's a lovely family experience - make sure you treat it with respect and help pick up some trash!

We had a lovely experience hiking the Aan secret waterfall trail! It is a really unique hike and we loved it! Dira greeted us and told us about how he found the waterfall and the efforts he is making to keep it accessible and clean. He also gave us water shoes to wear for the hike which were incredibly helpful! I would highly recommend water shoe footwear. We were going to go in sandals and that would not have been good. We were the only people doing the hike so it really did feel like a secret and special experience. You are truly immersed in nature. The hike is a bit challenging and I would not recommend for anyone with balance issues or only novice hiking experience. If you are up for a bit of a challenge and some wet feet, it is a wonderful adventure!! Worth noting this isn't like the bigger waterfalls with crowds, swimming, and bali swings, it's a lovely family experience - make sure you treat it with respect and help pick up some trash!
